New Delhi: THDC India Ltd., has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement for Tehri H.P.P. (1000 MW), Koteshwar H.E.P. (400 MW) and Vishnugad Pipalkoti H.E.P. (444 MW) with B.R.P.L. (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited) here today.
Sh. C.P. Singh, Director(Finance), THDCIL and Sh. Gopal Saxena, CEO, BRPL signed the agreement at THDCIL's NCR Office at Kaushambi, Ghaziabad in the presence of Sh. Deepak Sarwal, General Manager(SP), Sh. Ajay Mathur, AGM (Commercial), Sh. Ajay Kumar, Vice President, BRPL and many other senior officials of THDCIL & BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited).
THDCIL is implementing Tehri HPP (1000 MW) and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW - 22 Km Downstream of Tehri HPP) on the river Bhagirathi and VPHEP (444 MW) on the river Alaknanda in the state of Uttarakhand. The energy generated from these projects will contribute in stabilizing Northern Grid where presently there is substantial demand supply gap.
THDCIL is a joint venture of Govt. of India & Govt. of UP and one of the premier profit making hydro power generator in the country with commissioning of Tehri & Koteshwar Dam to its credit and is bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A' status.
